TheTreehouseIllustrator.com - Baby Gifts, Whimsical Artwork, and Incredible Awesomeness
I'm Kristin, and I am living my dream by running my art business, Treehouse Illustrator, while being home with my kiddos. :)
-- How my love of art has helped me live the life I've always wanted --
A couple of years ago, I had a great job working in a non-creative field. I'd also been doing freelance illustrations for years, but didn't have steady work. When I found out that my husband and I were expecting our first baby together, I was overjoyed! But after returning to work from maternity leave, I was conflicted. We needed the money, but I'd always felt like my most important role in life was to be a mother.
Within six months, my job had been eliminated, and I was given the opportunity to be home, and concentrate more on my artwork. I put a lot of effort into my Etsy shop, and was inspired every day by my son. I created new products, like wooden blocks and teething rings, and they started to sell!
Two years, and a daughter later, my business is going strong! The best part about it is that I can control my schedule -- if my kids need some time on the swings outside, I can put my orders aside for an hour and go play. My soul is enriched every time I can sit back, and be thankful for this great time in my life. I've never felt more at peace, and I've never felt more inspired than I do now. Being an artist has given me a chance to be the mommy I want to be.
When you choose to buy from me, you are, personally, helping me to stay home with my kids. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You are making my dream possible. :)
